Academician ZHANG Boli

Zhang Boli, the national honorary title winner of “People’s Hero”, professor, Ph.D supervisor, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering. He is the honorary president of the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine and honorary president of the Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He is the deputy chief technical officer of major scientific and technological projects “Major new drug innovation”, member of the Expert Committee of the State Council on Medical Reform, executive committee member of the 10th State Pharmacopoeia Commission and Chairman of the Professional Committee of Traditional Chinese Medicine, vice-president of China Association of Chinese Medicine, vice president of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies etc.

Professor Zhang Boli has been engaged in clinical, educational and scientific research of Traditional Chinese medicine for more than 40 years. He has rich experience in the prevention and treatment of coronary heart disease, stroke, dementia and other major diseases, which has significant clinical efficacy and welcomed by patients. He is in charge of the systematic study of vascular dementia (VD) and formulated the classification standard of VD and the treatment plan according to the three stages of platform, fluctuation and decline. He established the method of cerebrospinal fluid pharmacology, which reveals the mechanism of the protection of traditional Chinese medicine on nerve cells, and won the second prize of National Science and technology progress. He conducted the first evidence-based study on secondary prevention of myocardial infarction, and established a series of methods and key techniques of evidence-based evaluation of TCM. He undertook three National “973” projects in succession. He carried out the systematic research on prescription compatibility law, which established a new way to create modern Chinese medicine by component compatibility, and a batch of modern Chinese medicine was developed. He opened up famous patent medicine second development field, established a series of key technologies to improve the quality of traditional Chinese medicine products, promoted the upgrading of traditional Chinese medicine industry, and won the first prize of National Science and technology progress.
