Dr Reginaldo Filho, President of Brazilian College of Chinese Medicine
Dr Reginaldo Filho received his doctor’s degree in acupuncture and moxibustion from Shandong University of traditional Chinese medicine. After completing his studies in Shandong University of traditional Chinese medicine, he returned to Brazil and founded the Brazilian College of traditional Chinese medicine (Faculdade EBRAMEC) in Sao Paulo. It is the first private traditional Chinese medicine university founded by Brazilians in Brazil. “Tradition and Modernity” is the motto of Brazilian colleges of traditional Chinese medicine.
At present, there are 50000 formal Chinese acupuncture doctors in Brazil, including nearly 10000 Chinese acupuncture doctors. The Brazilian Ministry of health also plans to extend various traditional medical therapies to all parts of Brazil, provide training to various public health departments, and encourage the production of herbal medicines.
